I'm finally in Italy. Holy eff - it's all sorts of gorgeous. I had my first day of class today and I'm still getting settled so I'll update in more detail in a few days, but for now - just photos of the area I'm in for the entire semester. :D

Fighting Temptations
I'm resisting the urge to buy anything because I leave for Italy in 2 days. However, go figure, Forever 21 has updated their stock with some REALLY cute things. Or maybe they seem cuter than normal because I can't buy them.
Whatevs.
Some good wardrobes staples that can be layered with thicker shirts for the winter and thinner ones for the spring.
Some spring dresses and a skirt
MUST NOT BUY!!
What do you think? Which would be the hardest piece for you to not buy? See anything else on forever21.com that you loved?

Ride or Die
Great News: I FINALLY got my visa so I am good to go for leaving for Italia! Yay!
Today has been interesting. One of my dearest friends is having a crisis and I was totally ready and willing to be her ride or die bestie and jump in the car with her and drive 8 hours to go and fix her crisis. But then fate - otherwise known as mom - intervened and I can't go. Now I'm worried. I hope she'll be okay.
Also, I felt cold, but did not want to wear tons of thick stuff so I just layered some thinner stuff. A black open poncho with a lavender button down tunic over gray leggings and brown riding boots. I must say that I really like my look, plus I'm having a really good makeup day and a decent hair day, but now I have nowhere to go. Meh.
I took (poor quality) pictures of my look with my phone and for some reason my face is blurry while the rest of me isn't too bad. To see what I look like today just imagine...
Later days!

Otaku Crisis-su
I'm having a nerdy problem people.
I need new anime to watch!!!
I have been going stir crazy in my house watching episode after episode of television. I watched all of The Game in 2 and 1/2 days, tons of The Cosby Show, tons of Golden Girls, almost all of Being Eve, and sat through a marathon of Adventure Time with my little sisters...twice. I'm making up for all of the TV I didn't get to watch in school last semester I guess. Now I want to watch anime and I don't want to watch any of my oldies but goodies or like
So I need new stuff, new good stuff.
Got any series that you recommend?

Skirting the Issue
I have a week until I go to Rome!!!
...Hopefully.
I still don't have my student visa yet - Yikes!
I'm hoping the Italian Government and American Postal System won't fail me. Last week the mini-apocalypse slowed down the mail which caused my Visa to be sent in 4 days later than planned, but hopefully it will be sent to me within the week. (WISH ME LUCK).
In the mean time, I'm trying not to buy anything while still here in America - and it is very difficult.
My newest clothing craving is for the spring trend of big, breezy skirts. They aren't too long, but aren't too short. They show some skin, but hide those thunder thighs. They can catch the wind, but aren't so short that when they fly up they expose your goodies - this has happened to me with a flowy mini-skirt and it ain't pretty folks.
According to fashionologie, these skirts can be seen in the collections of Vena Cava, Proenza Schouler, and more.
And of course the ones I find and fall in love with aren't really all that affordable. Hopefully there will be some good finds over in the shops in Rome.
I am also a fan of wider legged pants. I talked about it earlier in my blog how I noticed that flared jeans were having a bigger presence on the runway. I still haven't found a good pair that wasn't...well, expensive. *sigh*. I'm loving my 7 For All Mankind wide leg jeans, but they have a hole in them and the inseam is about 5 inches longer than my actual leg. I don't feel like having them tailored. Meh. Oh the plight of the vertically challenged.
I'm obsessed with the amazing silouette wide leg pants and a fitted top can create. My favorite example is from Tracy Reese 2011.
What do you think about the lengthening hemlines and expanding leg widths?

Going Postal
I'm back.
Back at home.
and Back at blogging - sorry yall. The past month after the Yule Ball - WHICH WAS AWESOME - was rough.
And here at home the weather is a beautiful, snowy HOT MESS.
We have no equipment to make the roads navigable so that means my little sisters have to go to school a week late. Nobody can go to work or even get on the freakin freeway without having a wreck. It messes up EVERYTHING - including the mail. I STILL don't have my Visa to get into Italy and I mailed that sucker three days ago - express mail (1 day guaranteed delivery) and I'm pretty sure it is still in my town's postoffice. I also was supposed to have an order come to me yesterday and it still isn't here. *sigh*
Not. Cool.
I'll update with cooler...hotter??? stuff later.
Stay Warm!
