A Fancy for Flare

Oh the IRONY that when I finally get my legs a suitable size for skinny jeans the flare jean starts to worm its way into relevancy again. Though skinnies are not even close to being 'out', flare jeans are the new-new style that fashionistas can rock with their noses in the air and with a "I'm-being-a-trend-setter" smile.

Guess that means I'll have to buy TWO types of jeans for fall. Oh darn. NAWT!

Some ah-mazing and ah-fordable pairs (<--Clique speak. Any The Clique Series fans out there?)

7 for all Mankind - Ginger (These are in my closet. Got them at a discount denim trunk show from school. Yay!)
Bullhead Blue Horizon Jeans from PacSun (they have a great buy 2 for $55 sale going on right now)
Hudson Jeans...*drool*. They are SO COMFORTABLE. However, their prices, not comfortable. Meh.
Found this nifty pair at hottopic.com for the reasonable price of $29
Stickin with skinny jeans? Fiddlin around with flares? Have any favorite jean brands? Share!!!

It really makes you think...

As much as I want to believe the powerful statement in the picture...it's hard.
These past 20 years on planet Earth have been super fabbity fab fab. But sometimes I do wish I had a time turner (HP reference) to fix things - namely my GPA :P (trust me I did NOT want it to ever be where it is now haha)
But I currently want to see what it would be like being a lawyer and I also want to see what it would be like being an investment banker.
However I don't want to pursue these careers, get heavily involved, realize I hate it, and be stuck and full of regret.
To be honest, I have never really regreted anything I have done - even the slackin off in Japanese and my crackin under the pressure Freshman year of Dook - but I don't want my hard work for a potential career to be my first one.
I bet you are thinking...well, why doesn't she go for her dream career? Dream careers = no regrets.
Yeah...my dream career is to be a ninja. The world doesn't have those anymore. So I'll settle for almost-as-cool alternatives. :P But I'm not 100% on them

and that worries me.

Anyone out there stressin about future plans? Frettin over regrets? Does anyone work in i-banking or lawyer-ing that can give me some advice so I can stop freeeeeeakin out? Leave a comment and let me knowwww dearies!

Okee dokee - gonna go to my neuroscience homework now!

Stay Cool,

Sorry, Sorry, Sorry, Sorry...Shawty, Shawty, Shawty, Shawty

Gaaah!
Blog neglection! Super sorry yall. I've been working and doing school and it has been a little more intense than last summer session. I have financial accounting and neruroscience. Not saying that Spanish and English were easier, but I enjoyed doing them so they felt less like work and more like fun...really long and structured fun. :P Neuroscience is fun too but financial accounting is NOT. Seriously, neurosci almost makes me want to become a neurosci major...almost.
I am finally starting to get used to the way things work so I shall start posting a lil bit more frequently soooooon.
I also had a sweeeeeeet birthday adventure last week! I shall be sharing that awesomeness too.

In the mean time...
Beautiful KPop men singing a song with a chorus that I can relate to...because it is in English and has the word Sorry in it. They also say "Shawty" which makes me giggle every time. Enjoy!

What have yall been up to lately? Can you do the Sorry Sorry dance in the music video? Share Below!!!

Thank You For Being a Friend Part 4: Rose Nylund

This is part four to Thank You For Being a Friend, my tribute to The Golden Girls. Part One on
Sophia Petrillo can be seen here , Part Two for Dorothy Zbornak here, and Part Three for Blanche Devereaux here. :)

Rose Nylund

Rose Nylund is the nicest one of the girls, the most wholesome, and she is also the dumb blonde. Betty White, who is still alive - check out her new show Hot in Clevland (it's HILARIOUS) - shines in her portrayal of a kindhearted and naive lady from St. Olaf, Minnesota. You always knew she was about to share a (often ridiculous to everyone but her) story from her time in her hometown when you would hear her say, "Back and St. Olaf" and then hear an immediate groan or a sigh from Sophia, Dorothy, and Blanche. She offers wisdom from her Viking roots, not only with stories, but also with "Scandinavian" vocabulary (examples: “Gerkanenaken”: The exact moment when dog feces turns white “GoWackaNoggin”: A baseball-like game where you just hit yourself on the head with a bat.).

Rose's style is like her, nice and wholesome. She has items like Blanche that are girly and feminine, such as pastel colors and lots of skirts and dresses. However, she sometimes wears men-styled tops like Dorothy. Often this is a collared shirt under a blazer. She also wears dresses with a collar style neck.

She also wears the collared shirts under patterned sweaters. She often wears pants with her sweaters. They are very Cliff Huxtable a-la-Cosby show, no? I feel they bring out her funny and playful side.

Like Blanche, she also often wore a matching jacket and pants suit with a top underneath.
I always end these posts with what I would wear to emulate Rose and what she would wear if she was a trend following fashionista my age. This being the last of the girls means that this is the last time :(
Here we go!!!!
My Rose Nylund look would be a feminine dress. The dress would have print to emulate her fun sweaters. I would also have on heels and socks to make it a bit more girlish and wholesome feminine (as opposed to Blanche's sexy feminine). Rose often had on pearl jewlery so I would wear pearl drop earrings and a pearl necklace.

I can see Rose's young, spring 2010 trend-lover self, boldly sporting the tie die trend. It would be in a swingy dress, like the Proenza Schouler one above. She would also wear heels and socks, but the socks would be ruffly and girly to up the "sweetness factor".

What would you do to create a Rose look? Do you think I captured Rose's style? Are you a Golden Girls fan? Check out all four of the girls and let me know your favorite. I'd love to hear from you!!!
