Samples of my photography...and dorkiness

Dork Alert!

As yall know, I am a huge anime fan. I took these pictures at the 2009 Anime Weekend Atlanta convention. It was so much fun asking people to pose like their characters. I think the pictures turned out really well and quite similar to their drawn counterparts.

Skool daze part 1: Freakin Fantastic

Earlier I wrote a mock article for an application for an internship for CollegeFashion.com (didn't get it...tis okay. I love the CF crew and Zephyr anyway. Maybe next fall, no?) about study tools. I raved about flashcards that come with a little hook. They are freakin fantastic. I just bought about 5 of them for Japanese vocab on the go! And I found the website where YOU can order them online.

http://myndology.com/ring.php

I'm a huge fan of the Medium Ring 2x3 inch cards.

There are other size index cards holders and even notebooks with interchangeable pages. I mean really I could make these things myself but it's so nice to just buy them and use them whenever I want to.

These things are so convenient and cute (they come in pretty colors!). I love using a nice little container, but that's only ok if I want to play concentration (you remember that card game!) with my flashcards and match them. I want a quick review where I flip and go. I don't have to worry about 1. If I drop my cards will I be able to pick them all up? 2. Losing one random card or 3. Uneven flash cards (that irritates me SO MUCH). Having my words on a Myndology ring helps me to the Nth degree. Thought I should re-share my study tip. I gotta go study for my Japanese Chapter 11 quiz!

More study tips to come.

So hot right now.

"Armani dressed the wife

And Versace the mistress. " - Gianni Versace

Photos from Armani and Versace spring 2010 shows.

This is a quote from the book "House of Versace" by Deborah Ball. Both of the clothing brands have lots of personality but the sentence said by Gianni Versace sums it up pretty well. Armani does have a cool feel to it that I love, but Versace has more of a sense of youth and edginess. I do not like one more than the other, but I do like the quote. So hot.

I'm still sick and I'm still looking for spring looks to buy and I keep venturing into things that I can't afford. But really I am saving my money for an AMAZING trip to New Orleans.

Know any must see spots to see? Do you like Versace or Armani better? What are you excited to buy for spring?

Let me know!

I can't breathe (through my nose)

I'm sick! Not cool.

Want to know what is? Pre fall fabulousness.

Miu Miu = more preppy 60s. (See Louis Vuitton)

And Christian Dior (drool...) = tough 40s war chick meets high fashion movie starlet. Mr. Galliano can you do wrong? Ever???

And I thought I loved the LV pre-fall. Omg - I'm ready for fall already. Maybe I should backtrack a little and look at spring things.

I'm off to attempt to breathe through both nostrils and look for spring things!

Take Me With You To The Future and Beyond

I'm a big fan of themes. John Galliano for Dior is to die for. It makes me wish I had a stable and a Palomino...not to mention the clothes.

Same with pre Fall for Louis Vuitton. 60s preppy college girl. Love. It.

Really busy doing a musical and trying to stay afloat grade wise.

Good luck with all of your stoof too.

Dork Alert! - I like doing practice questions

Elle Woods = Lawyer Chic

The logic questions for the LSAT practice tests I'm taking remind me of the "logic projects" I used to do in my elementary school gifted class. I dreaded clicking on "start practice exam" the first time I decided to see what the LSAT really was. Then I was like "OH!!!! I used to do these in elementary school...but gosh these are harder" (duh! :P).

Yet, I LOVE doing questions like that. I even like the read-a-small-paragraph-and-choose-the-best-answer for/argument for/argument against the statement questions. The big essays with questions are my least favorite but they remind me of the verbal on the SAT and my Lit SAT II's. I did decent on the SAT (it's a 3 and 1/2 hour test...YAWN) but I pwned face (nearly perfect. still don't really know how I did that... o_0) on my Sat II's.

Finally - a standardized test that I will
enjoy studying for and won't want to procrastinate with my review book in my lap while watching Naruto.

Law school in your future? SAT in your future? (If so I'm hella sorry. I hated that thing. But I can give advice if you want it from me.)

Tell me!

Le sigh

My motivation to lose weight...

Emerald Isle a.k.a. E-Beach

If I am going there I can NOT be
I told myself I CAN NOT buy any clothes until I lose weight (in 5 lbs increments). Gaaah!

I often complain about how I don't have any money. But I do have a decent amount every once and awhile and I usually go to the mall or target and buy an item or two that's new to wear. A shirt here. Some tights there. And then I wonder "Where is my dinero???" :P

So I am forcing myself to NOT buy anything or drive anywhere until (unless it's an absolute emergency or a friend really needs it) I lose weight in different stages. I go crazy without leaving campus to be somewhere else every once in awhile. So if this doesn't work...I don't know what will.

When I get down another 5 lbs I'm going to Target or some other store to buy a sweater and DIY it to a ripped Alexander Wang-esque masterpiece (or I'll at least try to make it look cute) a-la Trang from Behind the Seams (thanks to College Fashion for posting the link to the how to site).

(Thanks google images!)

And then after that I will reward myself for reaching a new weight plateau by buying something from the new collection from Pendelton Meets Opening Ceremony.

(Thanks urban outfitter's blog)
And then after that I will buy one or two things from the new collection from Pendelton Meets Opening Ceremony.

The line is a bit pricey but maybe I can buy at least one dress.

I love patterns, plaid, and tattoos. But I don't think I'll be getting a tattoo anytime soon. Unless
it's love on my forehead like Gaara.

But I think that might hurt... A LOT

And I am also going to work to save up money to pay off student loans. Even though it will be much easier to save up to buy a new dress I know I will ALWAYS want a new dress but I don't ALWAYS want to be up to my lil ears in debt.

Are you on the "I'm going to lose weight!" bandwagon? Are you in the "I HAVE A $#!@ TON OF STUDENT LOANS" boat?

Let me know in ze comment box!

New Year! New Semester! New Shoes!

Lara Stone in this year's first issue of U.S. Vogue (she's my favorite model. SO much personality. love love love her)

What are we going to call this next decade when we reflect on it when we're in a future decade?
I mean when we get to 2020 - 2030 we're going to call it the 20's. So do we say for now? The '10's?

I looked up 1910 - 1920 on Google to see if there was a name and all I got was stuff on the Mexican Revolution that lasted from 1910 - 1920. Whatever. It's a new year!!!!!

What do you think we should call this new decade?

I'm still figuring out what to do this semester. It's rather unfortunate because this semester will impact the rest of my college life in many ways.

1. If I don't get my gpa up this semester I can kiss going to a top 20 law school good-bye (oh and I recently had an Elle Woods moment and decided that I want to be a lawyer. Fashion law is a growing field. I would like to do lawyerly stuff somewhere in that area or entertainment law/intellectual property whoot!)

2. I want to be an English major

3. I feel I need to actually get experience at a fashion internship and do Duke in New York - a fabulous program offered by my school - next Fall

4. I also want to study abroad in Italy next spring and do a fall internship at a fashion company

5. And (maybe...if I have ANY money left and/or if my parents don't beg me to come back home) Tokyo next summer

SO to do this I must take Italian, English, and Japanese. Great. Not too hard. I am enrolled in Jpn 2 and I am waitlisted - bleh - for the Italian and English class.

The part where I go "whyyyyy???" for decision making is with the other classes. I am enrolled in two marketing classes with really good teachers. But I want to be in a music theory course too! I dropped the m.theory course to take the Italian course but I'm having second thoughts. So I am wondering if I should drop the marketing courses. OR be really balsy/almost send myself to be a cavewoman who is constantly studying so she won't FAIL and ask to have 6.00 credits and take the music theory class too.

Music is in my blood more than anything. So I feel like I should take the theory course to better understand something that is so important to me. BUT I don't want to fail or drop any of the other classes.

Not only that but I don't even know if I'll be able to get IN the English and Italian classes. I am #3 for Italian and #4 for English. And I talked to the English teacher about being in his class because it sounds kick-butt beyond belief. He told me "Just stay on the wait list. Once I had a class with over 22 people on the wait list and after about two weeks the class roster was under it's limit of 18 students and had 12." It didn't hit me until after this conversation that that fact should probably lift a huge red flag of how tough this teacher is. But he and his class sound so AWESOME!

Meh.

Oh and I'm trying to lose weight and thinking about joining a sorority.

GAH! Why must I continue to write a check that my tush can't cash (stole that quote from Rocket Power. ;) Did anyone else ABSOLUTELY LOVE that show?)

Any suggestions to what I should do? I would love them. If you have even the slightest idea of what I should do or want to tell me your own dilemma - comment!

Regardless of what I chose to do academically, when I come back to school this weekend these shoes should be waiting for me to pick up at the post office.

That's right! I got em! Nearly broke the bank and took most of my Christmas money...and a good bit of my book money. Hehe...Oops.
But I can't WAIT to wear them.

At least I have something AWESOME and DEFINITE to look forward to. When I get sad about having to make a choice about classes, or whether to eat a brownie or go for a walk, or commit myself to getting great grades (not good, GREAT) instead of doing another musical or joining a sorority, I can look down at my feet and think "DANG I HAVE ON AWESOME SHOES!"

Ciao my blogger bellas
